School Curriculum
Our school recognises its historic foundation and strives to develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the church at parish and diocesan level.
We aim to serve the community by providing education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.
We encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promote Christian values through the experience we offer all our pupils.
Our Christian vision at Netheravon All Saints – Loving and learning, striving and caring: Together we flourish and grow – is underpinned by Jesus’ parable of The Wise and Foolish Builder and the quote from Matthew 7:24: “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
‘I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice.
He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock.
When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.’
Luke 6:47-48.
At school, we are creating the foundations for our future lives. Just like the wise builder, we know that creating these firm foundations requires working hard, digging deep and showing our understanding of Christ’s words through our actions. Through our curriculum, we aim to give our children the knowledge and skills – the foundations - they need to become fulfilled, successful, loving adults in their world.
We aim to promote the full potential of all by developing their unique talents and skills through a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum, within an inclusive, caring Christian environment where everyone is respected and valued.
Our Values
We create an inclusive learning environment based upon our Christian values of love, kindness, respect, trust and determination:
Love - We demonstrate love in the care with which we plan rich and engaging learning experiences for the children, thinking at all times of their needs, interests and development as learners and individuals.
Kindness - We demonstrate kindness in our teaching approaches, creating a stable and happy environment which enables all children to access the curriculum and make progress in their learning and development.
Respect - We demonstrate respect in the emphasis we place on developing cooperative and caring relationships between our learners, enhanced by the opportunities to work collaboratively with one another through our curriculum.
Trust - We demonstrate trust by building a curriculum that enables children to develop into confident, respectful learners. We give them the opportunity to ask questions in a safe environment by showing them that curiosity is to be valued and that everyone has something to contribute.
Determination - We demonstrate determination by providing challenge and giving children the tools they need to develop resilience and a desire to aim high and do their best.
